We always celebrate our anniversaries with a Mass presided by our Spiritual Adviser, Bishop Teodoro Bacani. And on our 25th Founding Anniversary celebration, he described the Familia Community with reference to our calling and to our journey in doing the mission that God gave us.
It is very interesting to note that, taken altogether, Bishop Bacani covered the 5 Pillars of Familia Community.
RELATIONSHIP with GOD
He said, Familia’s 25th year is like a Silver Jubilee. A Year of Grace!
Indeed, we are rich. After 25 years of doing the mission to “Bring More Families back to God’s plan, we must realize our rich contribution. Our treasure is the Lord & not silver & gold.
“God makes all things work together and to good for all those that Love God. Lahat ng ito gagwin ng Panginoon na makabuti sa atin kung tayo ay magpapakabuti”, he said.
“Bago tayo makipagusap sa tao sa Diyos muna. Magdasal oras oras.
More things are accomplished by prayer than this world could dream of.”
Manatili tayong magpakumbaba. magdasal at magpakabuti.
RELATIONSHIP with FAMILY & COMMUNITY
Today, many people are alone and lonely. And they don’t even know it. To show our love and concern we need to be present in their lives. Presence is being with people.
Ang hindi marunong makisama ay hindi sasamahan.
“People will forget what you said but will always remember what you did and how you made them feel.”
“Ang Mabuting Salita ay makakalimutan pero ang magandang gawa ay hindi.
RENEWAL OF SELF
There cannot be a true witness into Christ unless we are willing to undergo suffering and make sacrifices in the way that the Lord did so out of love.
REACHING OUT TO OTHERS
We love because God loved us first. This is a truth that propels us to go and reach out to others.
“Bakit ka nagpapalaganap? Sapagkat ikaw ay nakatanggap, pinagpala.”
Because you have received, and you acknowledge that you are a recipient; you also have accepted a responsibility to share.
Every gift that is given is a gift to be shared. Ours to share.
So, go ahead. Reach out to those who are in need of God in their lives. Go make disciples.
Share God’s love. Share God’s goodness. Share God’s word.
“Ang magandang balita ay laging bago. New in its fervor.”
“Tayo dapat ay masaya at masigla.”
Let us bring the good news, the same unchanging news, using new ways.
- New in its approach.
- New in its methods.
- New in its expressions
The Bishop likened Familia to those subterranean rivers:
“…hindi nakikita ngunit nagdidilig at nagbibigay buhay sa mga halaman sa mga puno nagpapayabong at nagpapabunga. Ganyan po ang mga pamilyang Kristiyano. Ganyan kayo. Kayo ang ilog sa ibaba, hindi man nakikita hindi man nagiingay ngunit nagdidilig at bumubuhay sa ating lipunan at sa ating simbahan.”
“You are Living Saints – mga buhay mga saksi sa biyaya ng Panginoon. Hindi nagiingay; hindi mabongga, ngunit mabunga at ganyan kayo…”
Ang Panginoon ang nagpapabunga sa atin.
