Money from the Lord

Written by Edwin Ondoy

Rejoice brought with her 10 of my books and mailing it in within the US could cost her about $5 to $10 but she was short of cash so she requested to mail the books some other day.  In reply, I told her she will be blessed if she mails the book soonest because doing so is joining me in proclaiming God’s goodness and love. (The book Under the Golden Shower Tree is about God’s goodness and love.)

While waiting at the bus stop still undecided to mail the books, a homeless man approached Rejoice and asked, “Do you have money?”  Rejoice replied, “Sorry, I have no money.”

The homeless man took some dollar bills from his pocket and offered the money to her which she refused but the homeless man insisted, slipped the money in her poscket and said, “This money is not from me, it is from the Lord.”

In the bus, Rejoice counted the bills and it totalled to $6. Later that day, with additional cash, she decided to mail the books and it cost her almost $6 for the parcel postage. Rejoice felt awed by her experience—believes that God gave her the money to mail the books.  She was also successful in her job hunting that day.

Rejoice had a faith-building experience that day.  For me, it was an affirmation that the writing of my book, “Under the Golden Shower Tree, “was God’s handiwork.

God is at work.  You may not see or feel it, but He is working behind the scenes.
