Double Beating Heart

Written by Claire Ordonez

I was hospitalized a few years back. I was having super fast heart beats for 5 days and nausea but I was not telling my parents even if usually, I experience this for one day lang or two days na at most. Pero that time 5 days na.

I was diagnosed with suprae ventricular tachycardia and had 270 beats per minute na heart beat. Super bilis na nun, di ba?  Normal is 60-90 when relaxed. 150 yung pag nag-e-exercise super bilis na nun diba? Imagine na double yun.

I was injected  with adenosine to slow down the heart, hindi pa din siya bumagal. Apparently, my slimming pill was cancelling it out.  So they had to resort to a stronger medicine and monitor me sa ICU.

I was crying. I don’t want to go to the ICU because bawal ang visitors. I was so scared. Sabi nung nurses, malapit na daw ako mag cardiac arrest.

That time, my parents sent a prayer request sa homecell nila. Then Tito Willy, texted Familia Community for prayers.

The palpitation continued and super pagod na yung heart ko and pagod na din ako.  I had a vision.  Jesus was hugging me and telling me everything will be okay.  It felt so real seeing Jesus at the foot of my bed.

The cadiologist said my BP is 80 over 60 and they can’t feel my pulse. They were torn between electroshocking my heart to restart versus its side effects given my condition.

I felt resigned, texted my parents my goodbyes, asked forgiveness and thanked them for loving me.

Few minutes later, I felt a super strong THUG in my heart, it was super painful, parang heart broken lang times 1,000. I thought, this is it na. But then a miracle happened! The THUG restarted my heart back to normal on its own.

It was discovered that there’s an extra fiber in my heart that causes the electric current to make it beat.  It was the cause of the “double beating” so they had to burn it down.

I believe that God did a miracle by answering the prayers of my parents and the whole community. Imagine super dami nila nagppray ng sabay sabay. And I’m forever thankful. I remember telling God na if I survive this, I’ll tell His story. It’s been almost 7 years now.  God is Good!
